Chandigarh  

Chandigarh is the best-planned city in India, with architecture, which is world-renowned, and a quality of life, which is unparalleled. As the capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh, it is a prestigious city. Chandigarh is a city in India that serves as the capital of two states, Punjab and Haryana, and is a union territory of India. Chandigarh has an area of 114 sq. km and with a population of 0.90 million (As per 2001 - Census). Chandigarh, being a modern city has developed a modern cultures of it self. Being the capital of two states, the People of Chandigarh speak in Punjabi or Hindi or a combination of the two. Chandigarh differs from many other cities of the region in that it has attracted people from throughout India. Known internationally for its architecture and urban planning, It is the first planned city of India.

The Chandigarh I.T. Vision 2010 is to promote the information and Communication Technology (ICT) for society and Administration. Government wants each resident to access the benefits of technology in its applications on a comprehensive basis. Chandigarh Administration declared its I.T. Policy to promote the application of Information Technology for the benefit of the residents of Chandigarh, by implementing e-Governance and by promoting investment in the field of technology, for generating employment. Chandigarh administration has been taking active interest to roll out e-governance initiatives in the State. Some of the key e-Governance initiatives of Chandigarh is e-Sampark etc
